sustainable design

Design trends often come and go, but one trend that seems likely to stick around for the long-term is sustainability: great news if you’re into reusing, repurposing, and up-cycling.Instead of throwing out that old dresser when you decide you don’t like the color, for example, try repainting it with a LEED certified product like Duration, Harmony or ProCycle from Sherwin Williams. Remnants of bedding, drapery fabric, etc. can be used to create new covers for your old pillows. InHabitat has some great project ideas to help you reuse items you may already have in your home. And of course, there are now more manufacturers than ever making products from recycled materials. If you only decide to try out one trend this year, make it this one!
